Steelers fans have waited all week to find out if Ben Roethlisberger will start in the Steelers vs. Browns game today. Fans and media have speculated whether he would be back this week after suffering a mid-foot sprain in last Sunday’s game against the Raiders. As always, Roethlisberger shocked many people by progressing ahead of schedule his injury. Roethlisberger was supposed to be in a walking boot for the entire week, but instead, he was already out of the boot and practicing at some capacity on Thursday and Friday.
So that just leaves one question, can fans expect to see Ben Roethlisberger under center today? The answer to that is: not as the starting quarterback. According to ESPN’s Britt McHenry, a team source said Roethlisberger will be the back-up quarterback for Landry Jones today, so expect Roethlisberger to be limited if he does take the field at all today.
The good news is Landry Jones is capable of leading the Steelers to a win against the Cleveland Browns, with the help of the rest of the offense and the defense of course. The Steelers will be entering a bye-week after today’s game, so as long as Roethlisberger doesn’t need to take the field to backup Jones today and there are no set backs for Roethlisberger in the next 2 weeks, Steelers Nation can expect to see Ben back as starting quarterback in the Steelers vs. Seattle game on November 29th!
