It seems another lions player has made headlines for the wrong reason.
Lions safety Amari Spievey was arrested Tuesday around 4 p.m. in Connecicut after having a dispute with his girlfriend over child support, this according to the Middletown Press.
Spievey was arrested for a third-degree assault, risk of injury to a child, and disorderly conduct, according to the police report.
His girlfriend, Lisamarie Santos, who is also being charged with risk of injury, told the police that Spievey put his hands around her neck and pushed her. She was accused of pushing him while he was holding their 2 year-old daughter, and threw multiple punches at his chest. Both had a bond set at $5,000.
Spievey, who was a second round pick of the lions in 2010, was set to be a restricted free agent, but re-signed with the lions earlier this month.
