Lovie Smith and Devin Hester could quite possibly reunite with the Buccaneers. Devin Hester will hit the free agent market next month and Tampa Bay may be the first team calling. Hester is one touchdown shy of breaking his tie with Deion Sanders for most touchdown returns in NFL history and would be an impactful presence. Mike Glennon could surely use more targets than Vincent Jackson and Mike Williams.
Hester played under Smith in Chicago for seven years so the odds of a reunion are high. Considering how Lovie Smith was hired in January and the Buccaneers are looking for a fresh start after the failed tenure under Greg Schiano as well as the fact that the Bucs need more ways to score. I am not saying Hester deserves a big money contract, but at the right price the Bucs could find themselves with more cap room to make even more transactions in order to compete in a deep NFC South division next season.
Devin Hester is easily the most dangerous, impactful return specialist the NFL has ever seen. If he is lured to Tampa Bay to play for Lovie Smith then I see Hester definitely putting up career numbers in 2014.
