Well, it seems we live in a forgiving time. Many have awarded Michael Vick a second chance in their hearts, along with Super Bowl bound Ray Lewis after being acquitted for murder 12 years ago. Perhaps the masses can forgive Anna Welker also for her ill-advised, poorly timed comments concerning Ray Lewis.
In frustration, Mrs. Welker took to Facebook, which is used by many as a venting machine, to get a few things off of her chest hours after New England lost their ticket to the big show. She criticized him for his multiple children and marriages, as well as the rumors of Lewis paying a family off concerning 2 murders, which he was acquitted from due to lack of evidence.
After Anna had a chance to calm down, and especially after the story caught fire in a negative light, she issued an apology through a statement.
“I’m deeply sorry for my recent post on Facebook. I let the competitiveness of the game and the comments people were making about a team I dearly love get the best of me. My actions were emotional and irrational and I sincerely apologize to Ray Lewis and anyone affected by my comment after yesterday’s game. It is such an accomplishment for any team to make it to the NFL playoffs, and the momentary frustration I felt should not overshadow the accomplishments of both of these amazing teams.”
This is the second consecutive year that a wife of a Patriot has sounded off in the heat of the moment only to their demise. Tune in next year to see what Rob Gronkowski’s girlfriend has to say post game?
