Blount originally went undrafted in the 2010 NFL draft out of the University of Oregon before being signed by the Tennessee Titans, where he was released before carrying a snap for the team and picked up by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In his rookie year with the team, he rushed for over 1,000 yards and scored six touchdowns. Blount had another solid showing in 2011 (781 yards, five touchdowns), but his production dropped to 151 yards and two touchdowns in 2012. He was traded to the New England Patriots for a seventh round pick and Jeff Demps. In 16 games with the Patriots, he rushed for 772 yards and seven touchdowns. In his four-year career, Blount has rushed 579 times for 2,711 yards (4.7 yards per carry) and twenty touchdowns.
