Marshawn Lynch apparently bit off more than he could chew when he donned these colorful cleats depicting his favorite sideline snack.
Lynch showcased his fruity footwear last Sunday during the Seattle Seahawks week 16 home loss at the hands of the 12-3, San Francisco 49ers. Lynch was able to go “Beast Mode” on the rugged San Fran defense despite the Seahawks 19-17 loss. Marshawn Lynch has been spectacular this season, piling on his 11th straight game with a score. Lynch went for 107 yards on the ground, including a 4-yard rush for pay-dirt. That score was the first and only that San Fran’s defense has given up on the ground all season.
Despite the work Lynch and his parodied kicks did against the league’s top rushing defense, NFL commissioner, Roger Goodell, and his office were not impressed in the least. Lynch’s choice in footwear cost the running back in the tune of $10,000.
Small price to pay if you ask me. Earning your 11th straight game with a score and scoring the first rushing TD against the NFL’s most terrifying run defense is quite the accomplishment, even if it was the most expensive bag of candy on the planet.
