After taking the interim head coaching position for the last three games of Houston’s season, Wade Phillips has been fired. The decision came after Phillips met with new head coach Bill O’Brien Saturday morning.
Thanks to McNair family and great Texan fans and most all our players. It was wonderful being home. I wish the best to all

According to one person who is familiar with the short meetings that O’Brien is having with all current staff, he is informing them that he intends on replacing them with a staff of his own. Sources are indicating that O’Brien has plans to replace Phillips with former Browns and Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel as the new defensive coordinator.
O’Brien is obviously cleaning house in an attempt to get the Texans back in the winning column after they had a league worst 2-14 record after such a tremendous season a year ago.
