For anyone that remembers the early ’90’s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (and honestly, who doesn’t), Will Smith’s character had an amazing high top fade as his hair style. Carolina Panthers wide receiver Tiquan Underwood, channeled his inner Will Smith by showing off his new high top fade at training camp today. Underwood told reporters that while you do not see the high top hair cut very often nowadays, a lot of fans seem to enjoy it.
“It’s very different. You don’t see it as much these days. But the fans seem to like it, which is pretty cool,” said Underwood.
Underwood added that he has to adjust his hair a bit for his helmet to fit, but the helmet fits just fine even with all of his hair.
“After having a helmet on for so long, I do have to adjust it a little bit. But it stays up there pretty good,” said the sixth-year pro, who signed with Carolina this season as a free agent.
The former seventh round draft pick also told reporters that while his hairstyle started as a joke among friends, he plans to keep it until his playing career is over.
“We were all joking around one day, and I actually went through with it at the barbershop,” said Underwood. ” … It just grew from there.”
Underwood may have the best throwback hairstyle in the NFL.
