WATCH: “Geyser” Causes Delay at Minor League Game 54

A “geyser” was activated during the top of the fifth inning of today’s Fort Wayne TinCaps/Great Lakes Loons Single A game when a player ran over a piece of the park’s sprinkler system.

Watch as TinCaps’ infielder Fernando Perez steps on a hose connection while running down a pop fly in foul territory. Water almost immediately started spraying towards the sky.

Check out the video, courtesy of the TinCaps’ YouTube channel:

Today’s “geyser” delayed the game for 18 minutes, including cleanup. The Fort Wayne TinCups (San Diego Padres affiliate) had plenty of leaky defense to go along with their leaky bullpen sprinkler. They committed 6 errors in a 15-6 drubbing by the Loons, affiliates of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
