Ochocinco to the Pats and a recap of the NFL moves Wednesday and Thursday. 84

As thought, the NFL free-agent and player signing period has begun, and is already in full effect with numerous deals involving bigtime players taking place over the course of Wednesday and Thursday. Here is a full recap of all the happenings so far in the NFL since the teams went back to work this week:

*In an under the radar move, the Patriots announced late Thursday night they have acquired WR Chad Ochocinco from the Bengals. Terms are undisclosed.

*The Titans came to terms with former Seahawk Matt Hasselbeck, as well as cutting Vince Young and Kerry Collins.

*The Jaguars signed free-agent LB Paul Pozluzny, formerly of the Bills

*The Jets addressed their top priority and re-signed star WR Santonio Holmes, with a 5-year, 24-millon dollar contract.

*The Steelers retained their top corner, Ike Taylor, in a four-year deal, likely making him a career Steeler. The terms are undisclosed.

*The Panthers re-signed stud RB DeAngelo Williams to a 5-year deal with 21 mill guaranteed. They also acquired DT Ron Edwards from Kansas City, and acquired TE Greg Olsen from the Bears via trade in return for a player to be named and a draft pick.

*The Bengals signed QB Bruce Gradkowski.

*WR Sidney Rice agreed to a five year deal with Seattle. Rice formerly played for the Vikings.

*Former Cardinal WR Steve Breaston was acquired by the Chiefs, terms are undisclosed as of now.

*The Vikings acquired QB Donovan McNabb from the Redskins for two draft picks in the next two seasons.

*The Dolphins prepared for the possible departure of both RB’s Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams, acquiring former Saint and Heisman Trophy winning RB Reggie Bush in a trade. It is as of now unknown who or what the Saints will receive in return for Bush.

*The Eagles made a free-agency big splash, signing former Tennessee DE Jason Babin to a five-year deal.

*The Patriots brought in troubled DL Albert Haynseworth via trade from the Redskins for a fifth-round pick.

*The Bills signed former Jets WR Brad Smith to a four-year deal.

*The Eagles traded talented backup QB Kevin Kolb to the Cardinals for CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and a second round pick. The trade will now pair Cromartie with Pro-Bowl CB Asante Samuel, and give Kolb a situation in which he can flourish.

*The Texans settled on CB Jonathan Joseph from Cincy instead of making a move for Nnamdi Asomugha.
