The Los Angeles Kings have re-signed defenseman Alec Martinez to a six-year contract extension.
A source told ESPN.com the new deal is worth on average $4 million per season.
Martinez, who scored the Stanley Cup-winning goal last June, was slated to become an unrestricted free agent July 1.
The Kings also re-signed blue-liner Jake Muzzin to a five-year deal worth $4 million a year earlier this season.
Alec Martinez scored the game winning goal in the conference final and Stanley cup final last season.
