One of the biggest sports stories that is not football related has been the Alex Rodriguez saga.  Likely, you have heard all about this story for the past few months and are frankly getting sick of seeing A-Rod’s face. The short way to explain it is that Rodriguez was suspended for 211 games during the 2013 season, but appealed the suspension in an effort to finish the present season.  On Saturday, it was announced that the suspension had been reduced to 162 games, which will hold A-Rod out for the entire 2014 campaign.

Like him or hate him, there is no denying the talent that a healthy Rodriguez possesses.  Whether he used PED’s or not, he is still the best third baseman on the Yankees roster.  Now, the team will have to look elsewhere for a productive everyday third baseman.

The roster is limited in this regard so the Bombers will either have to go with a platoon of what they have, or find another guy elsewhere.  They have three potential guys on their roster currently and have been linked to one veteran free agent over the last few days.

Here are the pros and cons to four guys that the Yankees may have to use at the hot corner in 2014.
