Allan Houston to be the next Knicks head coach?
The New York Knicks are in complete disarray and big changes could be coming if they don’t turn around their season quickly. Things could get real messy if they lose to the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday which happens to be owned by James Dolan‘s arch rival, Mikhail Prokhorov. But for what it’s worth, the Knicks may have a former player and assistant general manager Allan Houston take over the Knicks if newly appointed GM Steve Mills and Dolan decide they want a change.
Via NY Daily News:
But Allan Houston, supposedly the GM in training, looms as a potential successor. The word around Knicks camp is that Dolan wouldn’t hesitate to promote him to head coach if the Knicks don’t turn things around sooner than later. Houston’s $100 million contract placed the Knicks in salary cap purgatory for years. Maybe having to coach this Knicks team would be his payback
It should be noted that Frank Isola also broke stories of potential trades that involved Iman Shumpert going to the Denver Nuggets and Boston Celtics that centered around Kenneth Faried and Rajon Rondo. Both of these “rumored trades” ended quickly, so take new nugget of information with a grain of salt.
