Brooklyn Nets injuries mounting up; who will play vs Portland tonight?
The Brooklyn Nets (3-6) will play the Portland Trail Blazers (8-2) tonight in Brooklyn hoping to end Portland’s surprising 7-game win streak. Unfortunately for Brooklyn, they’ll be without some key players with the fate of others currently unknown.
PG Deron Williams (ankle) and C Brook Lopez (ankle) will NOT play tonight, according to ESPN New York.
PF Kevin Garnett is expected to play, but could be hobbled by a sprained right ankle.
SF Paul Pierce (groin) is a game-time decision.
Reserve forward Andre Kirilenko is also out tonight with back spasms, but he hasn’t played since November 8th.
Reserve point guard Shaun Livingston will likely start in place of Williams, and reserve center Andray Blatche will likely start in place of Lopez. The only healthy regular starter for the Nets right now is shooting guard Joe Johnson.
With all these injuries piling up, how will the Nets fare against a streaking Portland team? Do they have a shot despite being dinged up like this?
