Former Bills K Rian Lindell Posts Final Goodbye and Thank You to Bills Fans

  • Tad Johnson

This past week, the Buffalo Bills released their most tenured player, kicker Rian Lindell. Lindell owns numerous bills records and just came up short in being the all time points-leader for the team. When you play for the same team for 10 years, saying goodbye can be a bitter pill to swallow. Always classy, though, Rian Lindell said his final goodbye to a fanbase that loved him and the Buffalo Bills posted it on their facebook page today. Take a look!

Lindell recently signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but to me he’ll always be a Bill. I’ll never forget September 25, 2011. The day that he kicked a game winning field goal to beat the rival New England Patriots.

Thank you, Rian. From a life-long fan, thank you. I don’t usually let my articles get personal, but this man is the definition of a class act. He went out onto the field, did his job, and that’s it. He didn’t trash talk. He didn’t show off. He was appreciative of the gift he was given and the fanbase that accepted him.

And that’s the mark of a true champion.
