Scott, who was released by the Ny Jets in February due to a drastic salary-cap purge to afford younger players in either free agency or in the NFL Draft, had become a symbol of dysfunction in the Jets locker room and was most notably vocal about their win in his famous “Can’t Wait” post-game interview. It needs to be said that the past two years Scott played with the Jets, his play has declined. In 2010, be had a combine 81 tackles. In 2011, 66 tackles and in 2012, 60 tackles. In 2011, Scott had 4.5 sacks and in 2012 he only had 2.5 sacks.
Could Bart Scott be reunited with his old defensive coordinator, Mike Pettine in Buffalo? I would highly doubt it. The Buffalo Bills released a plethora of veterans before the season started and replaced them with younger talent.
There are many teams aroud the league that ned to address gaps int heir secondary and Scott could be a vocal leader int he locker room. I’m sure Bart Scott will let us all know in a grand fashion. I can’t wait.
