Jason Pierre-Paul Ready to “Hunt” Tony Romo
After a four game winning streak, it is safe to say that the New York Giants are very confident going in to their ever so important Week 12 game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Earlier in the week, Jason Pierre-Paul said the Giants were going “To put it on” the Cowboys. Then, safety Will Hill came out a few days later saying that Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant “doesn’t like to be touched,” and that would be their game plan against him.
Now, on Friday morning, Pierre-Paul added more fuel to the fire when he said that the team was going to “hunt” quarterback Tony Romo. In an interview Friday morning with the NFL Network’s “NFL AM,” JPP said that this is Big Blue’s game plan every week. Despite how good Romo has been this year, this won’t change a thing according to Pierre-Paul.
“At the end of the day it don’t matter what quarterback’s in the game or whatever, because we going to hunt, that is what we do up front,” JPP said. “…Whatever we going to do, we’re going to hunt. Tony Romo is a good quarterback but we’re going to get after him this week.”
The extra talk this week shows a few things. First, just how important this game is to the Giants season and secondly, how confident a few wins has made this team. Just one month ago, the Giants were winless and looking like one of the jokes of the league. Now, they are right in the thick of an NFC East title trailing the Philadelphia Eagles by 1.5 games.
The Cowboys are currently in second one game ahead of the Giants so there is importance for both teams in this one. The confidence shown by Big Blue is a good thing, but let’s hope they have not provided the Cowboys with too much bulletin board material that could fuel a devastating Giants loss on Sunday.
