Knicks’ JR Smith Purchases $450K Armored Truck From ‘Fast Five’

  • Matt Schantz

JR Smith signed a four-year, $24 million deal to return to the New York Knicks this offseason. And what was one of the 1st things he bought with the more-than-generous paycheck? A $450,000 Armored Truck.

According to The New York Post, Smith pulled up to a restaurant in Manhattan yesterday in a $450,000 Gurkha F5, an armored truck usually used by the military. It was the same kind of truck featured in the 5th installment of the Fast And Furious franchise, Fast Five.

JR Smith must have been watching Fast Five recently, because it’s the same exact vehicle Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson used in the movie, sans the above rocket launcher.
