Is anyone else tired of Carmelo Anthony talking about his pending free agency this off season?  It has literally been only a few days, and the talk is getting old.  Well, one person in particular is certainly tired of hearing about it and wants it to stop..

Head Coach Mike Woodson came out on Thursday and said that he was tired of Melo’s talk of potentially leaving after this season.  Woodson wants his star player to focus on the Knicks because right now, he is in New York and not going anywhere.

“If he’s going to test it, he’s got to test it. That’s on him,” Woodson said according to ESPN New York. “But at this point, he’s got to worry about this season and this season only, because that’s what’s staring him in the face.”

Woodson would continue to say that he did not think Antony’s thought’s of free agency would distract him this year, but talking about it will only hurt.

“It shouldn’t weigh on him,” Woodson said. “Melo’s going to be fine. He’s put himself in a great position.  We’re expecting big things from Melo. It’s been that way since I’ve been here, and it’s not going to change. He’s a major centerpiece of what we’ve done here the last few years. That’s important. [His performance] weighs heavily on this season.”

Anthony hinted earlier this week that he would opt out of his contract after this season, but said he wasn’t going to talk about his plans this summer.  However, Thursday he addressed the issue and called it an opportunity that he was “willing to explore and experience.”  He did say that he was willing to stay in New York and didn’t want anyone to think that he was definitely leaving.

It appears that Melo wants to have his own version of “The Decision” that made Lebron James’ free agency circus complete in the summer of 2010.  Many Knicks fans are hoping that this time around, “The Decision” will end in their favor.
