Carmelo Anthony’s free agency has been one heck of a roller coaster ride to follow, and it doesn’t seem to be coming to an end anytime soon. As Anthony is being pursued by multiple teams, a close friend of Melo’s says the star free agent is ‘torn’ between his possible choices in free agency.

Via the New York Daily News:

Carmelo Anthony is agonizing over where to spend the prime years of his career and the longer Anthony takes to weigh his options could become troubling news for the Knicks since Phil Jackson outbid the competition by $30 million.

According to a friend close to the Knicks All-Star forward, Anthony is still debating his next move with the Knicks, Lakers and Bulls all regarded as possible landing spots.

In fact, Anthony’s friend claims that the free agent is “torn” over what to do. If it were only about money, Anthony would have already announced his intentions the friend added.

The report also says Anthony hasn’t even necessarily ruled out the Houston Rockets or Dallas Mavericks as possible landing spots either, though both seem unlikely. I really don’t blame Melo here; people really underestimate how difficult of a decision this really is, and as a player, it isn’t often you have control of your destiny.

Melo should take his time, if for no other reason than we need more things to write about before the NBA offseason falls off a cliff…
