Dan Boyle will not be joining the New York Islanders afeter the two parties failed to agree terms, and Isles eneral manager Garth Snow will now attempt to shop his rights..  Boyle is an unrestricted free agent

The Islanders had gambled a fifth-round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft to obtain the rights to Boyle from the San Jose Sharks.  It was a tactic that worked when the team acquired the rights to, then agreed a long term contract with Washington Capitals goaltender Jaroslav Halak.

But it seems that the 37-ear old veteran defender doesn’t see the Islanders as a fit and now the Islanders will attempt to reclaim the draft pick they originally gave to the Sharks by trading his rights to another team.
