It was an emotional week for the Yankees. The organization said good bye to half of the “Core Four” when Mariano Rivera and Andy Pettitte pitched their final games in pinstripes. They got ousted from the playoffs for the first time since 2009 and just the second time in the last 19 years. Even though the Giants have started 0-4, the Yankees have generated enough buzz over the last week of the season to stay relevant in the New York sports media world, even though they won’t be playing October baseball.
So is it too early to look at what the Yankees must address this off season? I don’t think so.
