It’s been reported Buffalo Sabres have traded long time forward Thomas Vanek to the New York Islanders for Matt Moulson, a 2014 First-round pick, and a 2015 second-rounder. Accordung to multiple reports, the long awaited trade has finally happened for Sabres’ fans.  Thomas Vanek is on his way to New York and out of Buffalo.  It’s been rumored since early last season that Vanek could be on the trading block, and with Buffalo in a clear rebuilding mode this move makes sense. Buffalo’s offense has been stagnant and Moulson, a multiple 30-goal scorer could bring some much needed fire-power to the Sabres attack.  This deal also provides a little youth in the coming years in the form of multiple early round picks.  With Vanek now ousted from the team, how much longer will Ryan Miller have to wait until he gets the nod to head off on his newest voyage.  While Vanek’s time in blue and yellow may not have netted him Lord Stanley’s Cup, he will; be dearly missed as he has been a Captain and a face well known around Buffalo.
