WATCH: Curtis Granderson stumbles out of batters box on leadoff single

  • Tad Johnson

On a leadoff single against the San Diego Padres on Friday night, Curtis Granderson had a bit of a slip-up while trying to run to first base. Granderson stumbled and fell on the way down the first base line. He still reached base safely, but it still looked goofy. Take a look!

Granderson tried to get a quick jump out of the batters box, but got his feet tangled up underneath him and hit the dirt. Honestly, it’s not a huge deal as he still made the trip to first base and the Mets still scored three runs in the first inning before the Padres even lifted a bat. At least he looked sort of graceful in full faceplant and it’s good that he could have a laugh about it.
