With 2013 officially in the books, the NYSK writers wanted to take some time to talk about the ups and downs of the past year (mostly downs for all of our teams). Today, we will look at the year in review for the Buffalo Sabres.

In this year-end special, we will talk about the good, the bad, and the outlook for 2014. Hockey in general had a strange year, with the lock-out, starting the only 48-game season on January 19th. The Sabres were definitely no exception to the strangeness that was 2013 with lots of changes, including the firing of 16-year coach Lindy Ruff, the trade of two-year captain Jason Pominville,  the firing of the GM and interim head coach and the additions of new talent and management in hopes of turning the year around.
