Actual ESPN Headline: Is Stephen Curry better than LeBron James?
Let me preface this entire piece with this: don’t get me wrong, Stephen Curry has been amazing this postseason. Like, completely and utterly ridiculously amazing. Since we have that established, let’s get another thing straight: He is not even in LeBron James’ weight-class. Curry has that in common with every other person that plays basketball professionally on the face of this earth. What I am saying shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, and you are wondering.. “why does this guy feel the need to tell me that LeBron James is better than Steph Curry?”
Why you ask? Because apparently ESPN didn’t get that memo when they ran this headline.
I must have missed the memo when Steph Curry suddenly won three MVPs, or even played a complete 82 games. Now, I understand that the graphic is actually only insinuating Curry may have be better than LeBron in the playoffs thus far, which is also untrue, but it does make slightly less asinine.
Curry has the potential, especially if he improves on the defensive end, to be one of the premier players in this league for years to come, but to put him in the same breath as a four-time MVP winner, and the greatest player on earth is just a silly gimmick that can only be to garner cheap views. I guess since I am writing about it, mission accomplished?
