Blake Griffin finishes with a graceful dunk
Blake Griffin has become the NBA’s poster boy for dunking on any rim he makes eye contact with. Sunday’s game against their hometown rivals, the Los Angeles Lakers, was no exception.
Blake does a great job of releasing and out-running Dwight Howard after a Kobe Bryant miss, Chris Paul hits him with a quick pass and the rest is icing on the cake. Blake’s athleticism and great instincts on the break, paired with Chris Paul’s ability to push the ball up the court, work together in perfect harmony, and extended the Clippers’ lead to 97-82 over the struggling Lakers with a little under 5 minutes to play in the game.
The Clippers held their lead and eventually beat the Lakers by a score of 109-95, despite a combined 50 points from Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard. Blake Griffin led the way for LAC with 24 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists, as the Clippers continue to hold the 4th spot in the western conference. The Lakers have fallen back to 9th place in the west and are a half game behind the Utah Jazz.
The Lakers will need to turn it up a notch as they finish up their last 5 games of the season with a fairly tough schedule that will see them host the New Orleans Hornets, San Antonio Spurs, Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, and play one road game against the Portland Trailblazers.
