Brandon Bass and Gerald Wallace to Become Free Agents

  • Mark Evans

Today, Boston Celtics forward Brandon Bass and Brooklyn Nets forward Gerald Wallace opted to be free agents this upcoming summer.

Bass has said he would like to return to Boston, where he started, after being traded from Orlando for Big Baby Davis before the season started. Wallace’s stay was brief, as he was acquired from Portland in an attempt to persuade point guard Deron Williams to stay.

Wallace is an athletic combo forward who does a lot of things well and will draw a lot of interest, and will probably get a nice pay day. He could become the missing piece on a title contender. Bass would like to play with the Celtics next season, but it looks like he’s looking for a pay day as well after a nice season.

It’s unclear what direction Danny Ainge will take the Celtics this summer, so we’ll see what happens on that end.A pretty decent free agent class just got a little bit better.
