Cavaliers fire GM Chris Grant

Chris Grant is no longer GM of the Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers have fired general manager Chris Grant after a tumultuous start to the 2013-2014 NBA season. After trading for Luol Deng a couple of weeks ago, many thought the Cavaliers could get back into the playoff chase. Instead, the Cavaliers are sitting at 16-33 and riding a six game losing streak.

Grant has had very little success during his tenure as Cavaliers general manager. Grant’s draft selections of Dion Waiters, Tristan Thompson and Anthony Bennett have not panned out. In fact, since taking over as Cavs GM, the team has posted a .287 win percentage. There is still hope for the Cavs however, as the Eastern Conference is putrid and Cleveland currently sits 5.5 games out of the eighth and final playoff spot.
