The Cavaliers are “optimistic” about signing Ray Allen
The future of Ray Allen remains a mystery to everybody, but according to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports, the Cleveland Cavaliers are “optimistic” that Allen will sign a contract with them before training camp begins. According to reports, Ray Allen has been interested in following LeBron James wherever he goes, so the Cavaliers definitely have good reason to be confident in their chances to sign the three-point shooting marksman.
Ultimately, it sounds like this all comes down to whether or not Ray Allen wants to play another season in the NBA. He’s 39 years old, has won two NBA championships, and also is considered the greatest three-point shooter in NBA history right alongside Reggie Miller. He really doesn’t have anything more to accomplish, so if he decides to play it’s only because of his love for the game. Will that love for the game alone give him enough of an incentive to play another full NBA season at his age? That really is the question that we are all waiting to have answered.
