The Cavaliers have plenty of possibilities for what they can do with their number one overall pick, and they seem to have explored all of their options.  They have looked closely at Jabari Parker, Joel Embiid, Andrew Wiggins and even Dante Exum. Now they are linked to a possible trade with the Utah Jazz.

According to Pro Basketball Draft, the Cavaliers and Jazz have discussed trading picks and sending Derrick Favors to Cleveland. The Cavaliers would give the Jazz the first pick where they could then select Jabari Parker, and Cleveland would receive the fifth pick from Utah.

The trade seems too good to be true for Cleveland, and I’m not sure I buy it unless there are other pieces who haven’t been revealed (which is entirely possible.) The trade would give Cleveland a starting linup of Kyrie Irving, Dion Waiters, Noah Vonleh or Aaron Gordon, Tristan Thompson and Derrick Favors.

I’m assuming if the Jazz were going to accept the trade they would need a player in return such as Dion Waiters or Tristan Thompson before they were willing to part ways with Favors. Either way, Cleveland is certainly keeping everyone guessing about what they will do next Thursday night.

  • what about trading Hayward to Boston for their 6 and ….? is he worth the max? We lose Favors and Hayward, but get two probable stars at a more reasonable price.

    • why would they trade 6 for haywood when they can draft younger version in dougie or some other pick for much less money.

  • Heyward not a max but he is a good solid player for sure.
