Following his latest suspension due to his skirmish with Kris Humphries, many have once again been questions Rajon Rondo’s character. You either think he’s a punk or just a strong-minded competitor who plays with a chip on his shoulder, and there’s not much in between.

Danny Ainge, the Celtics general manager, still believes in his All-Star point guard, but admits there needs to be a little bit of change.

Via the Boston Globe:

When asked about Rondo’s growing reputation as a volatile player, Ainge said: “I think [three suspensions in nine months] is high. I just hope the next nine months is better.

“Hey, listen, it’s not good. There’s nothing good about it but I love the kid, he’s a competitor, he’s a warrior, and he needs to be in control, and I’m confident he will.

At this point, you have to believe that Rajon Rondo probably won’t change much. He is who he is, and his attitude is part of what makes him such a good player. If it takes a suspension here and there for him to keep his edge, the Celtics can probably live with that.
