There was a lot of hype surrounding the new-look Brooklyn Nets coming into this season. So far, so good, as they stand at 11-6, and look to be one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference.

A big part of this started when Deron Williams decided to stay with the Nets, even though he has yet to shoot the ball well so far this year.

Head coach Avery Johnson has been known to be a little controlling during his time as a coach. So what does D-Will have to say about this? Via the New York Daily News:

Fair or not, the rap on Avery Johnson in Dallas is he was a type-A control freak, the kind of coach who demanded without compassion, and who could prompt Dirk Nowitzki to describe the tenure as “a little dictatorship.”

“I’ve heard that,” Deron Williams says, cracking a smile. “At times, he likes to micro-manage the game.”

I guess you can say these kind of things when you’re 11-6, right?

Regardless, the Nets have looked good without their best player being at his best. Additionally, Joe Johnson hasn’t looked good at all, making the Nets seem even more dangerous. Imagine when their best two players start performing at the levels they’re accustomed to?
