If you ask a Lakers fan about Smush Parker, you are either getting a funny joke, or a dirty look. Parker doesn’t exactly have many supporters left in the purple and gold community. Apparently, even during his playing days, he wasn’t very liked, especially by star Kobe Bryant. While making an appearance on ESPN’s Highly Questionable, Parker tells a story about an experience with Kobe, where he tried to talk to Kobe about something besides basketball. Kobe wasn’t having it:

He told me one day at practice — I tried to talk to him outside of basketball about football. And he looked at me in practice and was dead serious and said, ‘You can’t talk to me. You need more accolades under your belt before you come talk to me.”

Well then. We have seen throughout the years that Kobe doesn’t have the greatest rapport with teammates, as his famous spats with Shaq definitely indicate. We have also seen that in his later years, Kobe’s filter is all but gone, and he is usually good for a nice quote more often than not. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him comment on this in detail if approached about the subject.

Here is footage of the entire interview with Parker, including a funny story about the Malace at the Palace as well:
