Gerald Green Ready For Potential Dunk Contest With Lebron James
The one-man dunk contest Lebron James took part in Monday has been well documented. While prepping for his game against the Phoenix Suns, The King decided to show off his dunking ability, displaying a variety of moves and tricks that has left the NBA as a whole impressed, including Phoenix Suns coach Jeff Hornacek.
“Obviously he’s a great player,” Suns Head Coach Jeff Hornacek told Arizona Sports 98.7 radio. “He’s tremendous in the open court and those are just examples of what he can do when there’s nobody in his way.”
While showing off his aerial moves in practice is one thing, attempting to put on a show for the crowd in Phoenix is something that the Suns resident high flyer won’t allow to happen without a response.
“I guess today in pre-game warmups, we’ll see what happens,” Green said. “We’ll see if he does something. If he does something, of course I’m going to do something. This is my home team. I can’t let him show me up like that.”
Gerald Green is one of the most prolific dunkers in the NBA, and is one of the few who can measure up to Lebron James when he takes flight. A dunk contest between these two would be a spectacular show for the US Airways Center, one that may end up overshadowing the game itself if this dream does indeed become reality.
