The Knicks lost by 41 points to the Celtics

Jared Sullinger and the Boston Celtics absolutely annihilated the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden this afternoon by the count of 114-73. That is not a misprint and even though it was an unusual noon start there is no excuse for losing by 41 points on your home floor. Sullinger dropped 21 points and had helped the Celtics jump out to a 25-3 lead in the first quarter and the C’s never looked back. Speaking of Sullinger, the second year big man had some interesting things to say about the Knicks players following the blowout.

This may not bode well for coach Mike Woodson as he has been on the hot seat because of the Knicks abysmal start to the season. The Knicks clearly weren’t ready for this game and saying they looked sloppy is a huge understatement. After winning their previous two games and looking like they may have turned the corner, the Knicks took a huge step back as the loss puts them at 5-14 on the season. If there is a silver lining for the Knicks, the team is only 3.5 games out of first place in the Atlantic Division.

One Response to Jared Sullinger calls out Knicks players after 41 point win

  • It’s not like he was lying. Everybody and their mother saw them revert back to iso ball from the moment the tip was claimed. They didn’t feel like playing, and it showed. They wanted to hurry up and go where ever they go when off the court. Either that or they wanted to get back in bed.
This is the second time a team said that they didn’t even try. The other was The Spurs.
When a team calls you out like that and you still don’t respond with some kind of effort you no longer need to be accepting those checks and you no longer should refer to yourself as professional.
