Jason Terry and Celtics agree on 3 year deal
In a wild unofficial start to free agency, former Dallas Maverick Jason Terry has agreed to a 3 year deal with the Boston Celtics, according to ESPN.
This comes a surprise to many, as it seemed like the Celtics were going to put their focus on retaining shooting guard Ray Allen. This could still happen, but it looks more unlikely now due to the fact that it would create a logjam at guard, considering Rajon Rondo and Avery Bradley are already cemented as the team’s starting guards.
Terry, who will be 35 when the season starts, will sign for the mid-level exception for 3 years. With Kevin Garnett returning, the Celtics are reloading once again, and it looks like they can be serious competitors once again.
Terry was previously rumored to have interest in the Miami Heat, and it was widely thought that he would not be returning to the Mavericks.
Well, looks like Danny Ainge still believes in this team for another year. Jason Terry might just be what they need. Let’s see if he’s right!
