Jazz-Nuggets-Warriors Agree On A 3-Way Trade: Iguodala To Warriors; Foye To Nuggets; Assets To Jazz
Jody Genessy of the Deseret News is reporting that the Utah Jazz, Denver Nuggets, and Golden State Warriors have agreed on a 3 way deal that will send Andre Iguodala to the Warriors from the Nuggets and Randy Foye to the Nuggets from the Jazz. The Jazz will receive a 2nd round pick from the Warriors for facilitating the deal. This three-way trade is actually an extension of the Jazz-Warriors trade that took place on Friday which sends Andris Biedrins, Brandon Rush, Richard Jefferson, a 2014 1st round pick and a 2017 first round pick to the Jazz in exchange for Kevin Murphy.
The deal gives the Warriors $24M in cap-relief, a $12M trade exception, and the ability to sign Andre Iguodala, who has agreed to a 4 year, $48M deal with the Warriors. As for the Jazz, the deal gives them future draft picks to use to build their team and three expiring contracts which won’t count against their salary cap after next season, giving them more freedom to sign free agents and give some of their other players like Gordon Hayward and Derrick Favors contract extensions. As for the Nuggets, this makes it so that they don’t lose Andre Iguodala for nothing. Randy Foye will provide some nice three point shooting for them, and won’t cost them a lot of money since his deal is for 3 years, $9M.
