After another rough season, the Toronto Raptors finally have something to be optimistic about other than the draft lottery.

The Raptors are in negotiations with 2011 first round pick Jonas Valanciunas. Valanciunas decided to continue to develop his game in Lithuania for another season. Many scouts have deemed Jonas as a possible franchise center with a finesse similiar to Pau Gasol.

Valanciunas cuurent contract states that there is a $2.4 million buyout and the Raptors are allowed to pay over $550,000 of that. Bringing in Valanciunas won’t necessarily bring in fans but it will assure Raptors fans that there is a new era in the Great White North.
