Kobe Bryant: Quit Talking About Trading Pau Gasol
After Kobe Bryant was forced to watch his teammates clinch a playoff berth from his bed following an Achilles injury, Kobe has been fairly vocal over Twitter. He has been using to it to show public support for his teammates, even the ones that he frequently bickers and argues with.
Pau Gasol was excellent in their win against the Houston Rockets, posting 17 points, 20 rebounds, 11 assists, and 2 blocks. Gasol catches a lot of criticism from people who really don’t understand how great of a player he really is. His name has been tossed around on the trading block, but the Mamba now wants all of that to end.
Can the talk of trading @paugasol come to a cease now??

Although Bryant gets on Pau Gasol frequently, I think it’s fair to say that he recognizes just how good his 7 footer is. Pau was a huge part of two of Kobe’s championship rings, and it’s very reasonable to think that Kobe would still be stuck at 3 if it weren’t for Pau.
With this in mind, the Lakers will have to ride out Dwight Howard and Gasol for the rest of their run this year, no matter how long it ends up being. Losing Kobe Bryant obviously hurts, but there are much worse situations. Playing through one of the most physically dominant big men in Howard and a 7 footer who can do literally anything on the floor in Gasol is a situation that many teams would love to have.
