Kobe Bryant on Wiggins: Cleveland is making a mistake
Kobe Bryant spoke out recently on the proposed deal to send #1 overall draft pick Andrew Wiggins to Minnesota. The Cavs traded the highly touted Canadian talent before he suited and played a game for the Cavaliers.

Kobe is referring to the 1996 NBA Draft in which he was drafted and traded by the Charlotte Hornets.
Jerry West and the LA Laker convinced Charlotte that a straight swap of Kobe Bryant and Vlade Divac was a fair trade. Well played Mr. West.
The Hornets went with the ‘win now’ mentality, taking LA’s starting centre in exchange for a 17 year old Kobe, a very promising athlete with a killer instinct.
This all sounds very similar, but with one crucial difference. The killer instinct. Kobe has to be the most competitive player in the entire NBA, he only wins, and will do anything to do so.
One of the biggest, if not the biggest concern on Andrew Wiggins’ scouting card was his mentality. Does he really crave those championships? Will he do anything to win? Does he have that ‘Mamba mentality’?
Only time will tell, but Kobe is already taking Wiggin’s side.
