Lakers are expected to hang on to Kent Bazemore
One of the few bright spots for the Lakers this season was the emergence of Kent Bazemore, whom they acquired in a trade with the Warriors. During his 23 games with the Lakers, Bazemore averaged 13.1 points to go along with 3.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and an impressive 1.3 steals per game. Bazemore showed the Lakers and the rest of the league that he has the capability of being a very serviceable player in the NBA, which is why the Lakers are rumored to be likely to hang on to Bazemore once he hits free agency this summer. If the Lakers extend Bazemore a $1,115,243 contract, he will become a restricted free agent, and it sounds like the Lakers are prepared to make him that offer. If they decide they don’t want him, I’m sure another team will be interested in giving him a look. He definitely showed he can play in the NBA and his value right now is very low.
