Another key member of the Utah Jazz has found a new home. This time it is point guard Mo Williams. Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports is reporting:

Free-agent guard Mo Williams has reached agreement with the Portland Trail Blazers on a two-year, $5.6 million contract, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

The second year of the contract is at Williams’ option.

Mo Williams will help mentor Portland’s young point guard Damian Lillard as well as provide some veteran leadership to the team. In addition, he will help give them more flexible options in the backcourt since he can play alongside both Lillard and Wesley Matthews. While Mo Williams isn’t an all-star level player like he used to be, he still is one of the better point guards in the NBA. This is definitely a good move for the Trail Blazers since it could help them make a push for the number eight seed in the Western Conference.
