NBA Fantasy Free-Throws: Week 12

z

This week, fantasy basketball owners everywhere are simply hoping to survive the next seven days without losing another significant player to the recent rash of injuries that has plagued the NBA so far this season.

But with an often hectic schedule that offers no shortage of fantasy options set to play four games this week, getting through your week 12 matchup unscathed is likely to be easier said than done.

Fortunately, you’re not alone, and as always, “NBA Fantasy Free-Throws” has got you covered with this week’s projections, which have been compiled specifically to serve as a guide for anyone unjustly forced to navigate their way through the depths of the free-agent market in search of last-minute replacements.

Big name, bad decision

Considering that many of this year’s top fantasy options are currently sidelined due to various injuries, there’s a good chance that you’ve become acquainted with the free-agent market in your league, and have spent at least a few sleepless nights scanning the waiver-wire in hopes of landing that diamond in the rough.

If this sounds familiar, then you also know that opportunities to improve your roster can occur at any moment and for an endless number of reasons, and taking the time to simply scan your league’s waiver-wire on a daily basis can often lead to hitting the jackpot.

But before you drop a productive fantasy option who’s been struggling recently in favor of a big-name addition, make sure that you know what you’re really getting.

Understandably, it’s difficult to resist the urge to pick up players such as Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Manu Ginobli, considering their potential, but cutting a lesser-known player to add a marquee name will often lead to unfulfilled expectations unless you’re willing to take a closer look at the numbers..

Fantasy websites everywhere are filled with features designed to make researching players and trends as simple and efficient as possible, and they’re available for these exact situations.

So before deciding to release a potentially valuable option in favor of your league’s latest, big-name free agent, take the time to do the research that applies to the situation, and remember, they’ve been cut for a reason.
