NBA GM: I’d take Tyler Ennis over Kyrie Irving right now
Syracuse freshman Tyler Ennis is having an excellent season for the number one ranked Syracuse Orangemen. Ennis is the catalyst that has fueled a school record 22-0 start. In fact, Ennis has played so well that one anonymous NBA general manager said they would take the Syracuse point guard over Kyrie Irving of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
“If you were to ask me right now whether I’d take Ennis over Kyrie Irving, I think it’s Ennis,” one GM said. “He does all the things that help a basketball team win basketball games. You can pick him apart on individual flaws, but I would take this kid right now and trust him to run my team. I think there’s very few freshmen you could ever say that about.”
Ennis is having a spectacular season averaging 12.1 points, 5.7 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 steals a game. To have a NBA general manager say they’d take you over Kyrie Irving right now, speaks volumes for what this kid has done in just 22 games at the collegiate level. However, the NBA is a different animal and albeit impressive, lets see what Ennis does down the stretch of the college season before we start making bold proclamations.
