Nets To Retire Jason Kidd’s No.5
The Brooklyn Nets have announced that prior to their October 17 preseason game, Jason Kidd’s No.5 will be retired and lifted into the rafters. Despite only playing 7 seasons with the team, Jason Kidd lead the team to the NBA Finals in 2002 and 2003, which was one of the franchises’ most successful eras in their history. Kidd joins Drazen Petrovic (#3), Wendell Ladner (#4), John Williamson (#23), Bill Melchionni (#25), Julius Erving (#32), and Buck Williams (#52) as the only players who have ever had their numbers retired by the Nets.
