Paul George erases Shelvin Mack’s layup attempt

  • Andy Flint

Paul George looked like a man possessed during yesterday’s game one of the NBA playoffs versus the Atlantas Hawks in Indiana. George finished with his first career triple-double in the playoffs and this intense block was one of contributing factors to George’s overall game. This play really sums of the day for both teams. The Pacers, led by George, looked focused, while Hawks looked pleased just to be there.

This huge defensive play came with about 11:00 minutes to go in the game, and stopped Mack from finishing an easy layup that would have cut the deficit to 11 for Atlanta. George protected the basket with a block from behind and kept the Pacer lead at 84-71.

George finished with 23 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists, as the Pacers cruised to a 107-90 win on their home floor. With game one in the books, the Pacers will look to defend their home floor yet again on Wednesday night in Indiana.
