Popovich Pranks Spurs With Israeli Rap Video

  • Mark Evans

Gregg Popovich is known more for his stone cold personality toward reporters than he is for his sense of humor, and any one who has watched a Spurs game on TNT can attest to that. In the first act I’ve ever heard of Popovich actually being funny, he played a pretty great prank on his team.

Via My San Antonio, Stephen Jackson explained how the prank happened:

“He was showing some film of me messing up, getting on me real hard. I was like, ‘You know what Pop, I don’t even want to play basketball. I’d rather do this. Kick it!’ And they played two of my videos. And Pop was like, ‘You know what? Don’t worry about it Jack. I got my own video.’ It was pretty cool.”

If you don’t know, Stephen Jackson also has somewhat of a rap career going on, which is what he referenced when he talks about his videos. You can watch the video that Popovich played here:

I can only imagine how funny this must have been to experience first-hand. I guess Gregg Popovich has at least a little humor in him after all.
