Rajon Rondo Hung Up Phone On League Official

Recently, we told you how Rajon Rondo was suspended for one game, which he served when his Celtics faced off against the New York Knicks. Everyone assumed it was for bumping a referee, but Rondo claims it was just a little different from that.

The league also cited failure to cooperate as a reason for the suspension. According to Rajon, it may have been for hanging up the phone on a league official. Via Real GM:

That’s when Rondo, in passing, seemed to indicate that he was suspended because he hung up on a league official.

“Man, I get suspended for a phone hang up and people get away with anything,” Rondo said in reference to his own actions and those of Anthony, who attempted to confront Garnett by Boston’s bus on Monday night.

The game that he served his suspension was a game that his Celtics won against the Knicks, where Kevin Garnett and Carmelo Anthony had their little altercation. So, it didn’t really end up hurting his team.

Regardless, imagine if this is why Rondo was really suspended? You have to believe his reputation didn’t help him in this situation.
