Rajon Rondo “intrigued” with being a free agent in 2015
Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo has only played a handful of games since tearing his ACL, but that hasn’t stopped his name from being in the proverbial rumor mill. Recently, Rondo said he would be open to staying in Boston, but like every athlete in today’s era, being wooed and recruited is the more appealing thing to experience. Thus, Rondo has changed his stance and would be intrigued to go through free agency in 2015.
Rajon Rondo said he’s “intrigued” by free agency in summer of 2015: “I may want to go through it.” He compared it to “college recruiting.”

The Knicks have been said to be very interested in Rondo. Reports have come out that Carmelo Anthony has been recruiting Rondo, even though New York doesn’t have very many assets that would appeal to general manager Danny Ainge. If Rondo decides he does want to go through the free agency experience, this may open the door to a potential trade. Ainge is a slick GM that wouldn’t risk losing a valuable piece to free agency. With that said, you’d think Ainge would begin to explore trade options for Rondo despite him being under contract until 2015. Stay tuned…
